The Cat Kin by Nick Green

A very quirky story about a group of children who accidently find themselves in a class learning to become cat-like! Little do they know that their new found skills will help them prevent an international drugs scam.

Intertwined with a back story involving a greedy crook and a mad scientist this was a very different and interesting adventure story but a bit muddling to read. I struggled to decide which age group I would be comfortable recommending this to as the ideas and themes are older, some of the writing is graphic, particularly the descriptions of animal testing done by the mad scientist and yet the general feel of the book is younger. Also, sorry but a really rather fugly cover! An eleven plus read probably appealing more to girls than boys. Weirdly enjoyable.
